Are Mexico Passport Holders Eligible for an India eVisa?
Travel from Mexico to India is made much more convenient due to Mexico being one of 169 countries whose citizens are eligible for an India eVisa.
Various types of India eVisa are available and cover activities such as tourism, business travel, family visits, and short-term medical treatment. India Visas Available for Mexican Citizens
Mexico passport holders wishing to travel to India are eligible to apply for three different types of online visas. Mexican nationals most commonly apply for eTourist and eBusiness visas.
The single-entry eTourist visas for India allow travelers to stay in the country for a period of up to 90 days. It covers activities such as tourism, visiting family or friends in India, or stays at India’s well-known wellness retreats. Travelers have one year to arrive in India after approval of the visa.
The double-entry eBusiness visa is for travelers visiting India for business and allows stays of up to 180 days in total. Like the eTourist visa, business visa holders have one year to arrive in India after approval of the visa.
This visa can be used for various activities such as attending technical/business meetings, conducting tours and participating in exhibitions or business/trade fairs, among other things.
Mexican nationals can also apply for an eMedical visa for India, which allows holders to enter India three times in total to seek short-term medical treatment. Travelers with this visa can stay in the country for a maximum of 60 days.
It is important to note that electronic visas cannot be extended and are not valid for travel to restricted areas.
How to Apply for an India Online Visa from Mexico
The process of applying online for an India eVisa is simple and straightforward. Thanks to the efficient online system there is no need to attend an Indian embassy or consulate in person. The application and approval process can be completed in as little as two business days.
In order to successfully fill in the online application form, applicants in Mexico should ensure they have a valid passport, a debit or credit card, and an email address at hand.

Indian eVisa for Mexicans: Documents Required
There are a number of requirements and documents needed during the online eVisa application process.
Applicants must have a current passport that has at least six months’ validity remaining after their expected date of arrival in India.
It is crucial that applicants check their passport validity before submitting an application, especially if they are applying well in advance of their travel plans. Passports should also have at least two blank pages remaining by a traveler’s arrival into India.
During the eVisa application process, applicants will be asked about their intended travel plans while in India, their expected entry and exit port(s) and to provide a list of all the countries they have visited in the last decade. They must also provide evidence of their return or onward travel from India and submit a ticket demonstrating this.
Personal Information Required From Mexicans for Indian eVisa Application
When completing the application form, travelers need to provide certain personal information, including their full name, their date and place of birth, their address and contact information, and their passport information and nationality.
They will also be asked for their marital status, profession or occupation, religion, identifying marks and educational level, as well as to answer various security questions.
Lastly, applicants will need to submit a scanned color copy of their passport information page along with a copy of a recently taken passport-sized photo.
The photo must be in color and in focus, with a white background. It must clearly show the applicant’s face and head, which should be centered and visible from the crown to the tip of the chin.
Authorized Entry Ports with India eVisa
Travelers from Mexico with approved electronic visas can enter through any of India’s 28 designated airports and five seaports. Travelers may exit from any of the country’s authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs).
If a traveler wishes to enter India through a port of entry that isn’t on the list of authorized ports, they will need to apply for a standard visa.
