Apply for e-Visa

Since the Indian government in 2014 introduced a new electronic travel authorization, known as India eVisa, citizens from over 160 countries including Ukraine are now allowed to travel to India on an online travel permit.

Ukrainian applicants simply need to complete the online form, pay for the visa, and receive a printable e-visa document via email that is accepted at most Indian ports of entry

What Visa Do I Need to Visit India From Ukraine?

Currently, all Ukrainian citizens traveling to India need to apply for and obtain an electronic visa before entering the country.

There are several types of Indian eVisas that Ukrainian citizens can apply for based on the nature of their intended visit to the country.

Ukrainians can apply for the Indian eTourist visa for touristic purposes to take part in activities such as participating in spiritual retreats or visiting friends or family living in the country.

The single-entry eTourist visa to India allows foreigners to stay in the country for a period of 90 consecutive days. Once the travel permit is approved, visitors of Ukraine have one year to enter India.

There are also other types of eVisas offered by the Indian government to Ukrainian nationals interested in traveling for business matters (Indian eBusiness visa) or those seeking medical treatment (Indian eMedical visa) in the country.

The double-entry eBusiness visa allows stays of 180 consecutive days in total for Ukraine.

Business visa holders from Ukraine also have one year to visit India, starting from the date of approval. This visa can be used for many activities such as attending technical or business meetings, participating in exhibitions, or business/trade fairs, among other things.

The eMedical visa for India allows Ukrainian holders to enter India 3 times in total to seek short-term medical treatment. Travelers with this visa can stay in the country for a maximum of 60 days.

Note: The Indian government has designated 28 airports and 5 seaports from which Indian visa holders can arrive in the country.

If Ukrainian travelers expect to arrive via land or sea, they will need to obtain a visa for India through a local embassy or consulate before arriving in the country.

When completing the application form, travelers need to provide the following personal information:

  • Full name

  • Passport information
  • Nationality
  • Marital status
  • Profession or occupation
  • Religion
  • Educational level

Ukrainian minors traveling to India

When Ukrainian children travel to India, they need to apply for an individual electronic visa.

In the case of minors, in order to get a clear idea of the age of the visa applicant, a birth certificate or approved age declaration form is essential for an Indian visa and must be submitted.

Additionally, for applicants below the legal adult age, a letter of consent from parents or guardians must be presented. This only applies in the case that the minor is traveling alone.

Indian eVisa processing times from Ukraine

The Indian visa for Ukrainian nationals takes around 2 business days to be processed. Nevertheless, it is advisable to apply at least 4 days before traveling to India.

Note: Ukrainians can only apply for an eVisa twice in a calendar year.

How Can Ukrainians Citizens Apply for an Indian Visa?

Applying online for an Indian eVisa is a very simple procedure. To successfully fill out the online application form, applicants in Ukraine should ensure they first have all the necessary documentation at hand.

Thanks to the efficient online system there is no need to attend an Indian embassy or consulate in person. Once approved, the eVisa will be sent to the provided email address.

Therefore, when entering India, visitors should present a printed copy of their eVisa and carry this with them during their travels.
